I grew up right here in Clayton. After graduating from Clayton High School, I attended Appalachian State University and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

Shortly after, I joined the United States Air Force. While serving, I volunteered to become a National Organization for Victim Advocacy (NOVA) certified victim advocate for survivors of interpersonal violence, specifically for those who served in the military, but also for those in the local community.

While I served in the military, I began my Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Missouri, and graduated shortly after finishing my enlistment. I then taught Criminal Justice at Tusculum University in East Tennessee.

It was there that I was introduced to Chinese Medicine via the local Veterans Affairs Medical Center. I learned that Chinese Medicine treats the person and gets to the root of the problem. Every person is treated individually, vs. a one-size-fits-all approach. I also learned that through Chinese Medicine, people can heal from their trauma because it can manifest in the body physically (knee pain, indigestion, etc.). I fell in love with this medicine and decided to attend Chinese Medical School. After four years of intensive schooling, I graduated with my Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degrees. This medicine is truly special, and I look forward to sharing that with as many people as possible.
