FAQs
What is Acupuncture?
1
Acupuncture, one of the modalities of Chinese Medicine, is the insertion of very thin needles into areas of the body. Acupuncturists choose these areas to needle based off of answers to questions, your radial pulse, and looking at your tongue. These needles help stimulate nerve pathways and releases endorphins, promotes relaxation, reduces inflammation, and enhances blood flow, which promotes healing and reduces pain.
How long are treatments & how often do I need Acupuncture?
2
Your initial appointment is 90 minutes, and follow-up appointments are 60 minutes. Microneedling, Nanoneedling, and AcuGlow are 60 minutes. Ear Acupuncture appointments are 45 minutes. Scar treatments are 30 minutes.
We typically start with one to two treatments a week for three to four weeks. We then reassess how you are feeling and determine how to proceed. My goal is to get you feeling better so you only have to return for wellness or maintenance treatments. A general rule of thumb is one month of treatment for every year you have had the issue.
Acute issues are often best treated with treatment at least twice a week. When working on underlying issues (working through the issue), treatment is most effective once a week. When making adjustments and fine tuning the body, treatment is best every 2-3 weeks. For maintenance, once a month is ideal. However, we will work with you and what your schedule allows.
What does Licensed Acupuncturist mean?
3
Licensed Acupuncturists are the only providers licensed to practice Acupuncture. I completed my dual Master’s degree and Doctoral degree in four years of Chinese Medical School. I completed over 3200 hours between the classroom and supervised clinical hours to obtain my degrees, where I treated over 420 patients. I passed a written and practical exam on clean needle technique and passed my required national boards to become Licensed.
What payment methods do you accept?
4
Currently, I accept cash and credit card. I do accept HSA and FSA, and will soon be accepting CareCredit on packages.
I am in the process of accepting some Insurance - more information to come as that progresses.
What is Microneedling?
5
Microneedling (also known as collagen injection therapy) is a minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural healing and remodeling processes. Through the creation of these intentional microtraumas, the production of collagen and elastin are significantly enhanced while the absorption of products is increased up to 2000%. The overall effect is a more even skin tone that appears firm and glows. Microneedling treats the skin as well as the underlying issues so the overall health if the skin is addressed. Noticeable results include: reduced appearance of fine line and wrinkles, improved hyperpigmentation and age spots, improved effects of sun damage, decreased pore size, improved skin texture and elasticity, decreased acne breakouts, and diminished scars.
The number of treatments needed to see results varies based on specific skin care goals. Starting in our late 20s and 30s, collagen production decreases 1% per year. By our 40s, collagen production is significantly diminished which results in sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and dehydration. Treatments build off of each other, so most see results in 3 treatments (which is why we start with a package of 3) and depending on desired results and condition of the skin, more treatments may be needed or wanted. A general rule is one treatment per decade of age (if you’re in your 40s, you should have at least 4 treatments). Microneedling can only be done once every 4 weeks (AcuGlow and Nanoneedling are great options for in-between treatments). Each treatment also includes nanoneedling, acupuncture, and Rainbow LED light. Results are long-lasting, with many people going years between treatments once they achieve their desired results.
The beauty of this treatment is your skin will start to increase its own collagen production, so results can be dramatic and long lasting. The Microneedling treatment includes an acupuncture treatment and LED Rainbow light therapy that’s personalized for your skin care goals.
All graceful aging treatments use TOMA skin care. TOMA is non-toxic, free of hormone disruptors, and plant-based and was founded by two acupuncturists. The skin care products are packed with traditional Chinese herbs and bioadaptive botanicals that work in harmony to help your skin do what it’s designed to do naturally: heal and repair itself. These treatments include the face, neck, and chest.
Initial Microneedling sessions must be purchased in a package of 3. The reason for this is because each treatment builds off the last, so seeing results can take 2-3 sessions. Purchasing a package of 3 ensures you have at least 3 treatments to see the benefits of Microneedling vs only having one treatment and not seeing huge results and not coming back. Initial packages include a free TOMA essential starter system (includes TOMA face wash, exfoliation, replenishing mist, and bioactive regenerative oil – regularly priced $58).
Acupuncturists are trained to microneedle with a “less is more approach.” Meaning, needling too deeply or with too much pressure can cause more harm than good. The remodeling process begins as soon as the microwounds are created, which does not require needling deeply into the skin.
Microneedling is a safer, more natural approach to younger looking skin. The results are long-lasting, especially with high quality skin care, wearing quality SPF, proper hydration, and maintenance treatments.

Do you offer packages?
7
Yes! We offer treatment packages on Acupuncture, Microneedling, AcuGlow treatments, and Ear Acupuncture.
We require the first Microneedling sessions to be purchased as a package of 3 because each treatment builds off the last, so the more treatments, the better the results. We do not want someone receiving one treatment and not seeing huge results and thinking Microneedling does not work. The initial package purchased for Microneedling includes TOMA skin care to take home (usually about 2 weeks worth of skin care).
Payments can be cash or credit card (FSA, HSA, and soon CareCredit).
